Carrels, Lockers & Mailboxes

Study Carrels

The Registrar’s Office assigns a Farrell Learning and Teaching Center (FLTC) study carrel to each first and second year Medical student.  The first year carrels are located on the third floor of the FLTC, and the second year carrels are located on the fourth floor of the FLTC.  These carrels are equipped with a desk, secure storage space, and data ports.  The Registrar’s Office will assign carrels and distribute keys at the beginning of each academic year.  Students are required to return their carrel keys at the end of each year before they leave for break.  Dates and information about the key return are listed below.  Please note: There is no fee for the carrel, but a $10 fee will be charged for lost key replacement.

Lockers

Lockers for Medical Students are available on the third and fourth floors of the Farrell Learning and Teaching Center (FLTC). They are available first come, first served and there is no sign up needed. Students provide their own lock. At the end of each year, all students must empty their lockers, per the dates below, so that they can be cleaned by building facilities. If there are any locks on lockers at the time of cleaning, they will be cut off and items within the locker may be discarded. First and second year students may claim lockers at the time they move into their carrel. Third and fourth year students may move into lockers on or after September 1st.

Mailboxes

First year and second year students will be issued a physical mailbox.  First year student mailboxes are on the third floor of the Farrell Learning and Teaching Center (FLTC), and second year mailboxes are on the fourth floor of the FLTC.  Students must clean out their mailboxes at the end of the academic year.  Dates and information about the mailbox clean out is listed below.
