Make a payment (effective July 1, 2025)
In Workday, you can make a payment from your bank account or credit card.
- In Workday, select the Financials Hub on the homepage.
- Click Make a Payment.
- For Payment Description, select either General Payment – ACH or General Payment – Credit Card.
- If you select General Payment – Credit Card, Workday will momentarily redirect you to Transact, a secure payment portal. There is a non-refundable 2.95% fee for credit card.
- If you select General Payment – ACH, you must have your bank account defined. For help, use the Update Student Payment Elections tutorial.
- Enter a payment amount.
- Click OK.
- Select the Confirm checkbox.
- Click OK.
- If you are paying with a credit card, Workday routes you to Transact to enter your credit card information.
- Back in Workday, navigate to the Financials Hub to see your payment.
Within the Financials Hub, you can find other ways to make a payment. For example, under Suggested Links:
- Select Payments via Wire Transfer to make a wire transfer.
- Select Student Accounting Information to see all other ways to pay.
You can also give permission to your friends and family to make a payment on your behalf. For help, use the Set Up Friends and Family in Workday Student and Manage Third-Party Permissions tutorial.
View student statement
A statement shows your financial activity for a single academic period. If you need to create a statement (e.g., for an employer), follow these steps.
These steps aren’t necessary to view charges and pay bills.
- In Workday, select the Financials Hub on the homepage.
- Under Statements and Documents, select View Statement.
- Choose an academic period.
- Click OK.
- Explore your student statement:
Table | Shows |
Charges | Tuition and fees (e.g., A&S undergraduate tuition). |
Applied payments | Payments that have been applied to charges, including general payments, waivers, and awards. |
Unapplied payments | Payments made to your account that haven’t been applied to charges yet. |
Anticipated payments | Sponsor contract payments and awards that have not yet been disbursed. |
Refunds | Payments delivered back to you from refundable payments, awards, and sponsor contracts. |
Courses | Your courses, registration status, and credit hours. |
If any of these tables do not appear on your statement, it is because there is no data to display. For example, the Payment table is hidden if you have not made any payments during this academic period.
